Konfigurowanie granic gatunkowych a problem polityczności. Przypadek posthumanizmu i transhumanizmu

Przedmiotem artykułu są teoriopolityczne rozważania na temat posthumanizmu. Jest to podejście, które zrywa z humanistycznym dogmatem, że człowiek jest bytem najważniejszym w rzeczywistości. Zamiast tego posthumanizm dowartościowuje byty pozaludzkie (naturalne, sztuczne, rzeczy), z którymi ludzie wchodzą w rozmaite interakcje. Autor uznał, że problematyka posthumanistyczna może być rozpatrywana w perspektywie biopolityki, która zajmuje się relacjami między polityką a życiem. Jednakże w odróżnieniu od wcześniejszych ujęć wiążących biopolitykę z kontrolą populacji posthumanizm stawia na szali żywotność gatunkową. W artykule przedstawiono konsekwencje takiego myślenia dla problemu polityczności. Autor odniósł to pojęcie przede wszystkim do fundamentalnych uwarunkowań konstytuowania się społeczeństwa jako pewnej całości, a szczególnie granic rozmaitych struktur i tożsamości. W przypadku posthumanizmu chodzi o przemyślenie granic człowieczeństwa oraz napięć między tym, co biologiczne, społeczne i technologiczne. To możliwość przepracowania na nowo problemu opresji i kontroli (np. kwestia szowinizmu gatunkowego) oraz emancypacji (np. cyberfeminizm). Ostatecznie sam posthumanizm stał się ruchem ideowym o politycznym znaczeniu, czego wyrazem jest aktywność transhumanistów domagających się przezwyciężania ograniczeń biologicznych człowieka poprzez innowacje technologiczne.

The article is a theoretical politics refl ection on posthumanism. It is an approach that breaks with humanistic dogma that human being is the most important being in reality. Instead, posthumanism underlines value of non-human beings (natural, artifi cial, things), with which people enter into various interactions. The author assumed that the issue of posthumanism can be considered from the perspective of biopolitics, which deals with the relationship between politics and life. However, unlike the earlier approaches which associated biopolitics with population control, a posthumanism stresses the life capacities of the species. This article presents the consequences of such thinking for the problem of the political. The author referred this concept primarily to the fundamental conditions for the constitution of a society as a whole, and especially to the boundaries of the various structures and identities. In the case of posthumanism the point is to rethink the boundaries of humanity and the tensions between the biological, the social, and the technological. It gives an opportunity to work anew the problem of oppression and control (eg. the question of species chauvinism), and emancipation (eg. cyberfeminism). Eventually, a posthumanism itself has become an ideological movement of political importance, which is reflected in the activity of transhumanists who demand to overcome the biological limitations of h uman being by harnessing the technological innovations.
